BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Branch County cross country teams ran in conference jamborees on Tuesday.
Vermontville Maple Valley hosted a Big 8 Conference jamboree. Bronson won the boys meet with 23 points. Union City was second with 34 points. Quincy finished fifth. Union City’s Ben Gautsche won in a time of 17:39.81.
Bronson’s Dominic Kiomento and Tyler Wilber were second and third. Chayse Jensen was 13th to lead the Orioles.
Concord edged Quincy by seven points (45-52) to win the girls race. Union City was third with 65 points while Bronson was fourth with 69 points.
Bronson’s Ashlynn Harris won in a time of 19:57.23. Her teammate Ava Hathaway was third. Kendyl Musielewiez of Quincy finished sixth, Brookelyn Parker was seventh and Sadie Miller finished eighth.
Union City was led by Alli Gautsche as she was fourth. Her teammate Skyler Fraley was ninth.
Meanwhile, the Coldwater boys were fifth in the Interstate 8 jamboree at Parma Western. Drew Vanderpuyl was 21st for the Cards. Coldwater did not have runners to have a team score in the girls race.
Ella Grabowski was the top finisher for Coldwater in the girls race as she was 55th.
