GILEAD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Construction is taking place on the building that will house the Bronson Fire Department’s new satellite fire station and the Gilead Township Hall at the intersection of Gilead Lake and Southern Roads.
The Bronson Fire Department has used their Facebook page in recent days to thank those in the community who are helping to build the facility.
Rusty Smith has donated his time to act as project manager. Dan Hershberger Construction and his crew have donated their labor along with Chuck Shimp Excavating. Kirk Skinner has donated his labor for the plumbing and HVAC.
Southern Michigan Bank & Trust has provided their maintenance crew of Kerry Skinner, Chad Butters, and Louis Horn.
It’s hoped the construction can be done on the $140,000 building by the end of the year. Gilead, Noble, Bethel, and Bronson Townships are funding the cost of construction.
