BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The City of Bronson has scheduled the flushing of fire hydrants for October 16 and 17 as part of the regular routine of water main cleaning.
The flushing of the hydrants will begin at 12:01 a.m. on Monday morning the 16th north of U.S. 12 and on Tuesday the 17th at 12:01 a.m. for those south of U.S. 12.
The City of Bronson apologizes for any inconveniences the flushing may cause.
On occasion, the water in the areas of flushing may temporarily have a reddish/orange rusty appearance as flushing can disturb iron sediment in the water pipes and cause the discoloration. If this occurs, residents are asked to run cold water at the tap closest to your water meter for several minutes to clear your lines.
The City of Bronson advises residents to refrain from doing laundry during the two days the flushing will take place.
