THREE RIVERS, MI (WTVB) – Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency and the St. Joseph County Transit Authority have announced a partnership to raise awareness of the agency’s “Lock it Up” campaign.
The Health Agency has been trying to increase community awareness with the “Lock-It-Up” Campaign since 2018. The campaign’s goal is to reduce the potential harm that children and adolescents are facing regarding exposure to medical and recreational marijuana in the home.
In hopes of spreading the campaign’s message, a designated bus from the transit authority fleet will have the “Lock-It-Up” messaging displayed on the side of the vehicle.
Transportation Authority Executive Director Allen Balog says there has never been advertising or promotional messaging on the outside of a transportation authority bus or van since they began operating 22 years ago.
He says, “It is the shared goal of the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency and the St. Joseph County Transportation Authority to reduce the harm of medical and recreational marijuana for St. Joseph County residents. By allowing this messaging to be shared on the outside of a transportation authority bus, St. Joseph County residents can easily spread the word that medical and recreational marijuana should be treated just like prescription medication – locked up and out of the reach of children and adolescents.”
