BERRIEN SPRINGS, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s girls golf season came to an end on Tuesday at the M.H.S.A.A. Division Two regional meet when neither Hailey Price nor Drew Sharpley advanced on to the State Finals.
Coldwater did not field a full team at the event due to M.H.S.A.A. rules changes that included the requirement that players to take part in four varsity events that left only Price and Sharpley to participate.
On a cold and blustery day, Price carded a 100 for her round and Sharpley shot a 120.
St. Joseph won the Regional with a team score of 364 followed by Gull Lake at 373 and Sturgis with a 379.
Gull Lake’s Charlotte Boudeman was Medalist for the event which took place at the storied Point O’Woods Country Club in Berrien Springs.
The top three individuals who moved on to the State tournament were KT Leinwand of Portage Northern who shot an 81, Charlotte Stenger of Mattawan and Ailana Leos of Middleville Thornapple Kellogg who both fired 82’s. Those three will represent Region 9 at this year’s Finals which will be held at the Forest Akers East Golf Course at Michigan State University.
