Branch County plans another scrap tire collection within next week

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County government will once again accept donated scrap tires after last Saturday’s collection failed to fill a trailer.

County Administrator Bud Norman said the miserable weather conditions were a factor.

Norman said the trailer behind the Department of Health and Human Services building on Keith Wilhelm Drive will stay in place for a couple of weeks.

The County is conducting the collection of passenger and pickup tires for recycling. There is no charge but tractor tires are not being accepted.

The collection is being made possible by a grant from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy. Terms of the grant call for no more than 10 scrap tires being donated per vehicle.
