COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A request from Clemens Food Group for a site standard variance for the expansion of a parking lot and staging area led to a lively discussion involving a pair of Coldwater Zoning Board of Appeals board members on Wednesday night.
Clemens Project Engineer Andrew Knowles said the request was made as the Coldwater facility will send out an additional 21 trailer loads of product every day as they transition to the addition of a partial second shift.
Concerns about the variance led to this discussion about past decisions by the Z.B.A. between Board Chair Gordon Swan and board member Joe Hayes.
After further discussion, the variance request to allow the expanded parking lot and staging area to be paved with compacted gravel, compacted asphalt millings or with asphalt paving and concrete was approved 4-1 with Swan casting the only no vote.
Lol! Coldwater rulers ruling. Of all the issues Clemmens has brought here the parking arrangement on their lot out in the sticks is the only thing to City wants to take on? What a waste these guys are.
All Clemens and Mastronardi did for Coldwater was bring in workers from foreign countries and flood our little town with these people. Good luck in getting them to go back home. To shop in Coldwater is like being at the Texas border.
