COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County United Way will kick off its fall campaign for 2023 on Wednesday as they will host their annual RadioThon on AM1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB.
Besides raising money, the Radiothon helps raise awareness of the United Way’s 27 partner agencies in Branch County.
The financial effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are still being felt.
Branch County United Way has been negatively impacted in regards to their main sources of funding in recent years, with both payroll deductions and community fundraising events taking large budget hits.
A reduction in the workforce has also had a negative effect on the United Way’s ability to raise money through workplace giving/payroll deductions.
Major fundraising events are beginning to regain support but the amount of money raised has not been the same.
Numerous $25 gift certificates donated from local restaurants and businesses in Branch County will be given away throughout the day during the Radiothon along with other prizes.
The 2022 Radiothon raised over $15,000 for the Branch County United Way.
