Alice F. Clark, 78, of Tekonsha, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall.
A celebration of Alice’s life will take place at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 27, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Tekonsha, 914 N. Main St. Tekonsha, MI, 49092, with Pastor Brian Perry officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Tekonsha.
Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2023 and Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:00 a.m. also at the First Baptist Church of Tekonsha.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Alice was born on July 3, 1945 to Alfred and June (Glentzer) Grogg in Geneva, Indiana. She graduated from Grey High School with the Class of 1963, then went on to Huntington University, where she earned her bachelor of education degree in 1967. On June 10, 1967, she married M. Keith Clark in Bryant, IN. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2002.
Alice was employed at Tekonsha Community Schools, where she was an elementary and middle school teacher. As a teacher she touched many lives in the community. Additionally, she served eight years as the Tekonsha Village Clerk.
Alice was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tekonsha, where she worked with the youth for many years, and served on the Deacons Board and on the Missions Committee. She was actively involved with the community serving as The Tekonsha Idea editor for many years. She was also involved in The Friends of the Library Board, The Durham Park Committee, and the Tekonsha Research Club, a Women’s Bible Study Group, as well as being a member of the Tekonsha Library Board.
Alice enjoyed cooking from a young age and passed that down to some of her younger sisters, her sons, and a few of her granddaughters. She enjoyed attending sporting events and activities that her sons and grandchildren were involved with, as well as traveling to visit her son and grandchildren when they were overseas. Some other hobbies included reading and photography, which she passed down to a couple of her granddaughters.
Surviving are her sons, Chad (Melisa) Clark of The Village of Florida, OH, Todd (Louise) Clark of Kenya, Africa and Craig Clark of Tekonsha; grandchildren, Kezziah (Tyler), Karis, Callum, Loden, Lexton and Linley; siblings, Fred (Henrietta) Grogg, Howard (Kathy) Grogg, Larry (Julia) Grogg, Paul (Carol) Grogg, Marilyn (Ronnie) Warden, Joe (Diana) Grogg, Ron (Sherry) Grogg, Joy (Bob) Bogart and Connie (Cliff) Spencer, sisters-in-law, Janice Grogg and Sue (Scott) Saunders; brother-in-law, Don Lederman; and many many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Alice was preceded in death by her parents, sister Letha Lederman, and brother Gene Grogg.
