COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man is facing four charges following a weekend domestic violence incident at a residence on North Sprague Street.
Following a Coldwater Police Department investigation, 27-year-old Tayler Jay Lorenz was arraigned on Monday in Branch County District Court on charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, possession of methamphetamine, interference with electronic communications and domestic violence.
According the Branch County court documents, Lorenz is accused of assaulting a female acquaintance last Saturday. After the confrontation, Lorenz is accused of running from the scene. He was later arrested in Hillsdale County.
As he was being checked into the Branch County Jail, authorities say Lorenz allegedly had methamphetamine in his wallet.
A cash or surety bond was set at $50,000 and not guilty pleas were entered.
A probable cause hearing was scheduled for November 2 with a preliminary exam on November 7.
