William “Bill” Ledyard, Jr., 67, of Battle Creek, formerly of Ft. Wayne, IN and Coldwater, passed away Monday, October 23, 2023, at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Occasions Hall, 430 W. Chicago St., Coldwater.
Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
William was born February 9, 1956, in Sturgis, MI to William & Luella (Draper) Ledyard, Sr. His mother died when he was very young and was raised by his grandparents Lloyd and Iva Draper.
Bill worked in the restaurant/bar industry for most of his life including the Lamplighter, Lefty’s and most recently The Pantry in Ft. Wayne, IN. He had also worked for the Salvation Army in Ft. Wayne.
Bill was an avid Detroit Lions and University of Michigan football fan. Always on the go, he enjoyed the outdoors, going camping and visits to the casino. Bill loved spending time with his family, especially watching his grandkids play sports.
Bill is survived by his children Justin (Misty) Ledyard of Burr Oak, Luanna (Steven) Evans of Sturgis, Billi Jo (Joel) Herr of Battle Creek; his siblings Lloyd Ledyard of Jonesville, Kimberly Ledyard of Mio, Robert (Rui) Ledyard of Guam; his grandchildren Brayden, Amy, Kali, Kaynen, Makayla, Nicholas, Emily, Rhylee, Olivia, Colton; his special friends Dan Payne and Amber Porter both of Ft. Wayne, IN and his former wife LouAnn Shook.
He was preceded in death by both parents and his grandparents.
Memorials may be directed to the family to help with funeral expenses.
