BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The post season arrives for high school football and cross country teams in the State of Michigan this weekend.
In the football tournament, the Union City Chargers will travel to undefeated and top-ranked North Muskegon on Saturday afternoon to battle the Norsemen in a M.H.S.A.A. Division 7 district semi-final.
Union City is 6-3 while North Muskegon is 9-0 and finished in a tie with Jackson Lumen Christi for the top spot in Division 7 in the final Michigan Associated Press High School Football poll of the season.
The winner advances to the district title game next weekend to play either Schoolcraft or Lawton. Those two teams will play at Lawton on Friday night at 7:00 p.m..
Kickoff for the Union City-North Muskegon game is 1:00 p.m.. Coverage on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB will start at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

The M.H.S.A.A. cross country regional meets will be held on Friday and Saturday.
Coldwater in Division Two and Union City in Division Three will run in their regionals at Portage West Middle School on Saturday morning.
Bronson and Quincy will compete in the Division Three Regional at Ella Sharp Park in Jackson on Friday afternoon.
The top three teams at each regional advance to the M.H.S.A.A. Finals next Saturday at Michigan International Speedway along with any individual finishing in the top 15.
