COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners made a couple of board appointments during their Tuesday afternoon meeting.
While all four Commissioners present agreed to appoint Heidi Chamberlain to the Mental Health Board, there was a divided vote as to which of the three candidates would serve the next three years on the Human Services/Maple Lawn Board.
Donna Cowden was appointed to the board after she got two votes during a roll call of Commissioners. Sarah Roper and Martha Schumacher each got one vote.
Commissioner Jon Houtz was absent from Tuesday’s meeting.
Cowden’s term will expire on October 31, 2026.
Chamberlain replaces Jay Gallagher on the Mental Health Board after he stepped down. She will serve out the balance of his term which expires on March 31, 2024.
