COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Main Street Director Audrey Tappenden gave a report to the Historic District Commission on Wednesday night about this week’s launching of a reimbursement-based Façade Restoration Initiative grant program in the downtown area.
The program will be funded by a $75,000 grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and $37,500 of matching funds from Coldwater Main Street. The money will be deployed towards a small number of projects.
Grant awards are competitive and cannot exceed 75 percent of project costs.
Building and business owners located in the Main Street Area, and whose buildings are contributing structures to the downtown historic district, are eligible to apply.
Applications are due February 9, 2024.
There was no formal business during Wednesday night’s H.D.C. meeting due to the lack of a quorum.
