COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A company with a facility on Jay Street in Coldwater has been acquired by Maine based Elmet Technologies.
It was announced on Thursday that H.C. Starck Solutions Americas is now a part of Elmet as they try to form a Global Leader in Tungsten and Molybdenum Materials and Components.
The acquisition creates the largest U.S. owned producer of tungsten and molybdenum materials and products, with nearly 400 employees across three facilities in Maine, Ohio, and Michigan.
According to a news release, the combined company will continue to manufacture and supply all of its existing product lines.
A company official says they have immediate plans to invest in expanding their workforce and manufacturing capabilities at all three of their U.S. sites. These future investments will build on the success of recent investments across the group.
The Coldwater facility currently has 130 employees.
