Larry Raymond Moore, 71, of Quincy passed away Friday, November 10, 2023, at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Union Church of Quincy with Pastor Brad Parrish officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
He was born on January 15, 1952, in Montpelier, Ohio to Forrest Raymond and Ethel Maxine (Bordner) Moore. Larry married Cynthia (Stone) on June 28, 1986, and she survives.
Larry graduated from Montpelier High School in 1970. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Tri-State University. Larry was a middle school teacher at Quincy Community School for over 20 years. Larry retired in 2015 and continued substitute teaching until the day of his passing. He took students to Washington, D.C. on class trips for 20 years.
A big part in Larry’s life, and a huge joy, was coaching baseball and basketball.
He was an avid Ohio State Fan and enjoyed golfing during his retirement. Larry also enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s events. He was a man of faith and was a member of the Union Church of Quincy for 50 years.
In addition to his wife Cynthia, Larry is survived by four sons, Brett Allman of Colon, Kevin (Billie) Allman of Quincy, Jason (Jamie) Moore of Coldwater, Austin (Julie) Moore of Jackson; two sisters, Sandy Moore of Flint, Bev (Tom) Keber of Defiance, Ohio; one brother, Terry (Elaine) Moore of Perrysburg, Ohio and 11 grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Judy Alguire, Judy Zuver and two brothers, Don Moore and Jim Moore.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the family to start a memorial scholarship in Larry’s honor or a donation to the Union Church of Quincy.
