LaVonne D. Silva, 78, of Union City passed away Monday, November 13, 2023, at University of Michigan Hospital.
The family will receive friends and share memories on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 12:00-4:00 p.m. at Occasions, 430 W. Chicago St., Coldwater.
Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
LaVonne was born September 30, 1945, in Sun Prairie, WI to Leon and Beatrice (Karow) Riedner. She married Joseph Silva, Jr. on October 21, 1964, in Madison, WI.
Mrs. Silva was a dedicated wife, mother, homemaker and caregiver. She once shared that she was most proud of being a mother to her nine children. She was a loving mother who was proud of her children and was admired by her entire family. Her will and determination taught us to stand for what is right.
LaVonne was very devout in her faith as a Lutheran. She loved the outdoors; tending to her flower garden; cooking and working crossword puzzles. LaVonne enjoyed decorating for the holidays and talking to her children daily both over the phone and in person. Above all she enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
LaVonne is survived by her husband Joseph; her children Jeffrey (Cassandra) Silva of Lowell, Joel (Jennifer) Silva of Wyoming, Tamara (Paul) Wittbrodt of Coldwater, Christopher (Sheree) Silva of Coldwater, Bobbi Fraley of Sherwood, Patricia (Chano) Fuentes of Beaufort, SC, Dana Silva (Paul Haynes) of Grand Rapids, Joshua Silva of Grand Rapids, Ashley Silva (Adam Cooper) of Silver Spring, MD; her siblings Richard (Joyce) Riedner, Diane (Norman) Fales, Jerrilee Nellen, Bruce “Rocky” Riedner (Steven Guderian), Cheryl Riedner, Rhonda Riedner, Kirk Riedner(Debbie Barter); her grandchildren Dillon, Andre, Anthony, Rachel, Kairi, Paul, Ali, Carter, Danielle, Emmett, Alyssa, Logan, Maxwell, Emma and many great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandson Erik Wittbrodt, her sisters Karen Bonura, Margo Armstrong, Linda Evans and Crystal Kelly Janson.
