COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch Area Food Pantry in Coldwater distributed over 1,000 holiday food boxes with over 30,000 food items during their annual holiday distribution on Saturday.
Lines of cars started forming over four hours before the Food Pantry started handing out the food boxes at the Deacon Al Provot Distribution Center.
The line went down Pierson to Waterman to Clay Street and around on U.S. 12. The Coldwater Police and Fire Departments were on hand to help with traffic control.
The boxes are full of food for both Thanksgiving and Christmas and are intended to help those in need who maybe struggling during the holiday season. Pre-registration was required.
The planning for the annual distribution starts during the summer time as food and donations are collected from the community.
The Branch Area Food Pantry is totally operated by volunteers.
