COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County need to submit their plans on how they will distribute their share of ARPA funds to the State of Michigan by the end of the year.
After hearing several requests in recent weeks, it’s getting down to crunch time for Branch County Commissioners as to who will receive funding.
Amy Galliers from the Great Start Collaborative Program of Branch County spoke to Commissioners last week about obtaining $50,000 of the ARPA funds which would be used for Family Success Scholarships.
She spoke about the lack of childcare available in the county and how the funds would help with providing services for those who need them.
Branch County Administrator Bud Norman presented a revised list of ARPA fund requests during the Commissioners work session last Thursday. Some items have already been addressed and other requests have been removed.
There is $5-point-4 million of ARPA funds left to be allocated.
Commissioners discussed different ways on how the funds should be distributed last week but took no formal action.
