COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility is repaying half of the $500,000 they have borrowed from Branch County.
During Tuesday’s Branch County Board of Commissioners meeting, Commissioner Jon Houtz said $250,000 will be back in the county coffers by Wednesday following action by their board.
Houtz serves as the Commissioners liaison to Maple Lawn and his report was mostly positive.
Maple Lawn has been battling financial difficulties for over a year. A cut in residents during the COVID-19 pandemic has been cited as the main reason Maple Lawn got into a financial squeeze.
A resolution passed by Commissioners in April calls for Maple Lawn to make a full repayment to the county by May 1, 2024.
