COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council approved a request from City Manager Keith Baker on Monday to move the city’s remaining balance of American Rescue Plan Act funds into the current Fiscal Year 2024 budget for revenue replacement.
The City of Coldwater originally got over $1-point-2 million in funding as its share.
The remaining balance is about $407,000 and Baker said the action was needed after the State of Michigan moved up the deadline by one year to December 31, 2023 in which they had to report how the funds would be used.
Baker says the City utilized $441,000 of the funds for the Butters Avenue street reconstruction project as well as $400,000 for the U.S. 12 bridge project and over $35,000 for a one-time premium pay to essential worker’s wages.
