COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Southern Michigan Bank and Trust President and CEO John Waldron has announced the promotion of Aaron Lewis to Executive Vice President, Chief Credit Officer.
After joining the bank in January 2022 as First Vice President/Chief Credit Officer, Lewis was soon promoted to Senior Vice President. He has over 20 years of banking and managerial experience, having worked with Ohio-based Young and Associates, Inc. as Director of Lending/Senior Consultant.
Lewis has also served as Vice President/Credit Administrator for Farmers State Bank.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in finance from Michigan State University. He also attended the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Waldron says, “Aaron has been instrumental in supporting and enhancing the bank’s credit processes, policies, and procedures. As Executive Vice President, Chief Credit Officer, he will play a major role in the future of our company. Aaron has consistently demonstrated unparalleled expertise and exceptional leadership qualities, and we are confident that he has the skill set for this crucial role.”
Lewis resides in Jerome with his wife and daughter.
