KALAMAZOO, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy bowling teams swept Kalamazoo Hackett on Wednesday night in Varsity Boys and J.V. Mixed action.
In the boys match, Quincy struggled early as they dropped close baker matches [143-160] and [141-149]. But the Orioles came back and won the match 18-12.
Cameron Barry led all Quincy bowlers on the night shooting a 194. Also scoring in game one were Max Stetler [131], Ethan Jannsen [121], and Tyler Short [171].
Game two found Quincy again taking 4 of 5 with Stetler [154], Jannsen [117], Barry [123], and Tyler White [177].
Coach Andy Craig said, “Obviously not the start we wanted tonight but we got the job done. Kudos to this group that never quits. We work hard at practice on our spare game and keeping our attitudes in check. They powered through some early struggles and had to really battle with their spare game to keep game two in reach and capture the needed points. Hackett had some really good bowlers and are a great program so to come away with the win on the road says a lot about these kids and their drive.”
Quincy won the mixed Junior Varsity match 25-5 as they outshot Hackett 1,182-893.
The Orioles also took six of 10 in Baker play shooting 94 and 135 vs Hackett’s 121 and 110 games.
