William “Bill” Gallatin, Jr, age 71, of Quincy passed away Saturday December 16, 2023, at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy with a brief time of sharing beginning at 5:30 p.m.
He was born August 18, 1952, in Hudson, the son of William “Al” Gallatin and Rita Beaubien.
Bill attended Quincy High School and was a long-time truck driver. He drove for several companies, including Unisys and Maverick.
Outside of his work, he had a passion for riding motorcycles and fishing. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Bill proudly served his country in the US Army.
Survivors include his children, Jennifer (Jim) VanDam, Kelli Gallatin, Jason (Kerri) Gallatin and Leanne (Chris Traskos) Gallatin; grandchildren, Jack and John VanDam, Bryson and Leila Gallatin, and Carter and Chace Traskos; siblings, Linda (Dave) Tryon, Laura (Randy) Rupp, Marry (Rick Spiece) Gallatin and Larry (Rhonda Whitney) Gallatin; and the mothers of his children, Marylou Hayman and Teresa Quimby.
He was preceded in death by his parents; half-sister, Jean Hickok; and longtime friend, Marie Murray.
Memorial donations are suggested to the family.
