BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Bronson needed a late basket to remain unbeaten but Quincy and Union City dropped Big 8 Conference girls basketball games on Tuesday night.
The Vikings are now 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the Big 8 after they won at Reading 42-40.
Bronson Coach Tony Lasky said they had to overcome a tough shooting night.
Quincy only had six players available due to injuries as they lost to Concord 54-38 in their Big 8 Conference opener. The Orioles managed to cut into Concord’s 25-9 halftime lead with a huge third quarter but they ran out of gas.
Kendyl Musielewicz led the Orioles with 13 points, four rebounds and two steals. Alyssa McCavit had nine points, 12 rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Deziray Skirka grabbed 10 rebounds. Quincy is now 0-4 overall.
Meanwhile, the Quincy Varsity and J.V. Girls Basketball Games for Thursday night at Hanover-Horton have been rescheduled to February 26.
It was another tough night for Union City as they fell behind 39-4 at halftime lost to Springport 56-19 at the McNett Fieldhouse. The Chargers are now 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the Big 8.
