Dawn Wilcox, 69, of Quincy, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023, at home surrounded by her family.
A memorial service for Dawn Wilcox will take place Friday, January 12, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy with Pastor Bill Cole officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at the Quincy American Legion.
Visitation will take place Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
She was born on April 30, 1954, in Coldwater to Sigurd and Geraldine (Dressel) Peterson. Dawn married David Wilcox on February 16, 1979, and he survives.
Dawn graduated from Coldwater High School in 1972 and received her associate degree from Lansing Business University. She was an accountant at Oldsmobile-Scramble in Coldwater for many years and also at Wilcox Trucking.
She enjoyed calling BINGO at Masonville, walking the shorelines in Florida looking for shells, and being pampered. Dawn was very festive and Christmas was her favorite time of year. She loved going to Walt Disney and watching Disney movies.
She also liked tending to her flowers, landscaping, and spending time with her fur babies, Hooch and Radar.
In addition to her husband, David, Dawn is survived by her surrogate daughter/niece, Shanti (Darryl) Converse; sister, Jean (Jerry) Pottenger; two brothers, David (Paula) Peterson, Eric (Cassy) Peterson; one step-son, David Scott (Amy) Wilcox; one step-daughter, Julie (Roy) Messing; nieces and nephews, Tyler (Karmen) Peterson, Cale Houser, Carrie (Steve) Hall, Jo (Michael) Johnson; step-nephews, Dane Cole, John Frye-Peterson; and great-nieces and nephews, Gavin (Brea) Hall, Alyssa Hall and Justin Johnson; five grandchildren, Lauren, Alex, Jefferey, Andrew, Ann Marie; two great-grandchildren, Paislee and Melanie; her beloved cousin, Jo Everson; and lifelong friend, Kathy Olmstead.
Dawn was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Steve Peterson.
