QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Quincy defeated Vandercook Lake 60-20 in the first round of the “Quincy Holiday Hoops Tournament,” on Thursday night. The Orioles were defensive-minded throughout the game, holding Vandercook Lake to just 3 points in each of the first 3 quarters. Offensively, the Orioles made some great passes and showed tremendous teamwork.
“I am proud of the way that the guys played today, as we have been battling illness, injury, and other obstacles. The team motto, ‘Rise As One’ was critical today, and the players stepped up and played for each other,” commented Coach Scott Rodesiler.
The team is back in action Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Quincy Gymnasium, also known as “The Cathedral”. The Orioles will play for the championship against 6-2 Ottawa Lake Whiteford.
