UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Union City Fire Department says they responded to fewer calls during 2023.
They had 87 calls during the past year compared to the 112 calls they had in 2022.
The responses included:
21 assists to EMS
14 motor vehicle accidents
10 Fire related calls
8 Burning complaints
17 Service Calls
5 C/O or Fire Alarms
12 Mutual Aids
The department also received three grants last year.
They got a Michigan DNR 50/50 Grant for $4,700, a Michigan Fire Equipment Grant from the State of Michigan Treasury Department) for $20,000 and a Cooperative Grant from the Union City Rotary for $5,030.
