COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan Economic Development Commission has decided to pause all future rounds of the Match on Main program which affects the Coldwater Main Street program.
It was just last week that Coldwater Main Street announced they had begun accepting applications for the reimbursement grant program.
But the Michigan E.D.C. has informed Coldwater Main Street Director Audrey Tappenden in an e-mail they were pausing the Match on Main program, “in order to allow for strategic changes aimed at enhancing the customer experience of the program. This pause includes the funding round set to open on January 15.”
The M.E.D.C.’s Small Business Services Team is still identifying the next steps but they hope the pause will be brief.
With at least a ten percent match, Match on Main would have provided up to $25,000 for projects including technical assistance, building renovations, permanent and semi-permanent activation of outdoor space as well as general marketing and technology, among other items at eligible downtown businesses.
