BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Branch County is included in a Wind Chill Warning until 12:00 noon on Monday as National Weather Service forecasters says wind chills will drop to as low as 32 degrees below zero.
The temperature at the Branch County Memorial Airport in Coldwater dipped to nine degrees below zero at 5:30 a.m.. Wind Chills overnight were as low as 26 degrees below zero.
Sunday’s low in Coldwater was six degrees below with wind chills near 30 below.
The National Weather Service is warning residents that the cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. You are being asked to avoid outside activities if possible.
If you have to be outside, make sure you wear appropriate clothing including a hat and gloves.
Temperatures are expected to stay below freezing for the rest of the week.
