COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – With the below freezing temperatures expected to continue through the weekend, an emergency warming center at the Coach Eby Youth and Family Center will remain open at least into Saturday.
Rachel Everett from the Coach Eby Center said the warming center was originally scheduled to stay open until noon on Wednesday, January 17.
She said there have been plenty of donations.
Cots and blankets are available and meals will be provided. Center officials say they need volunteers to staff the emergency warming center and be of assistance to those that arrive.
Volunteers will be needed during all hours, day and night. All volunteers will need to complete a background check that can be run on the spot.
Anyone wishing to volunteer can email Randy Levinton at randyleviton@gmail.com. You can also call (517) 278-5031.
The Coach Eby Youth and Family Center us located at 89 West Chicago Street.
