COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Sheriff John Pollack announced during the Board of Commissioners work session on Thursday he will be retiring when his current term in office expires on December 31.
Pollack has been in law enforcement for 41 years including the last 37 years with the Branch County Sheriff’s Office.
He was first elected as Sheriff in 2012. Pollack felt he and his staff have accomplished almost everything they could over the last 12 years including a partnership with the Michigan State Police to overcome the massive layoffs of road patrol deputies right after Pollack took office.
Pollack is the second major Branch County official to announce their retirement in recent days. County Administrator Bud Norman said two weeks ago he was going to retire when his contract expires at the end of the year.

Well John I hate to see you go but I can’t blame you. You have been a good Sheriff and made Branch County safe. Enjoy your journey into your retirement years.
