QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy School Board of Education gave district Superintendent Marc Kramer a “highly effective” rating for the past year on Monday night.
The board made the decision after evaluating Kramer’s performance during a closed session.
Kramer has been the Quincy School Superintendent since July of 2018. Before coming to Quincy, he served as the principal of Mendon Junior/Senior High School.
Tim Miller, who was selected as the Quincy School Board President during Monday’s organizational meeting, said the board thanked Kramer for his service and for continuing to lead Quincy Schools in a positive direction.
The board voted 5-2 last year to forego the yearly evaluation for Kramer after he had gotten three straight “highly effective” evaluations.
The action taken by the board last year fell under the lines of a Michigan Association of School Boards Superintendent evaluation tool which states if a superintendent is rated as “highly effective” on three consecutive annual evaluations, the board of education may choose to conduct an evaluation biennially instead of annually.
But the M.A.S.B. says if a superintendent is not rated as “highly effective” on one of these biennial evaluations, the superintendent must again be evaluated annually.
