COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council adopted a pair of resolutions on Monday night to help historically designated properties within the downtown historic district pursue grants to further their building preservation and renovation efforts.
The action came after the city was recently designated as a Certified Local Government through the Michigan State Historic Preservation Office.
Coldwater Main Street Director Audrey Tappenden said they have received two applications for CLG funds, one from The First Presbyterian Church of Coldwater and the other from The Coldwater Community Center, Incorporated.
She says the City applies to the program on behalf of these organizations.
Both the Community Center and the Presbyterian Church are seeking $18,000 for their projects.
