COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinals were locked in both offensively and defensively in their 57-17 non-conference girls basketball win against Three Rivers at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium. Coldwater went 11-for-26 from the 3-point line while holding the Lady Cats to 7-for-29 shooting and forcing 32 Wildcat turnovers.
Rylie VanAken had four triples and finished with a game-high 13 points and 3 steals. Her cousin, Mya Porter, also drained four 3-pointers on her way to 12 points and 5 rebounds. Elli Foley had a pair of triples and finished with 6 points and 9 rebounds. Danika Cox had 6 points and 6 boards, while Kenzie Scheid added 8 points and 4 rebounds. Abby Robison had the other Cardinal 3-pointer.
Coldwater improved to 11-2 with the win and will travel to Hastings Friday night.
Allie McGlothlen and Jennaya Decker scored 6 points apiece to lead Three Rivers; they drop to 2-6 and will host Niles on Friday.

In the JV game, Marie Powers made the game-winning basket, as well as a follow-up free throw, as Coldwater came from behind to beat Three Rivers 31-28.
