Marc Leo Hiesrodt, 71, of Union City passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
In keeping with Marc’s wishes, he will be cremated and no services will be held at this time. He will be interred at Burlington Cemetery with his parents at a later date.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Marc was born on November 26, 1952, in Battle Creek, to Jack Leo and Betty Jane (Cole) Hiesrodt. He graduated from Union City High School with the Class of 1971.
Marc was married to Carol Francisco for 13 years and they had two children, Jess and Amy. That union ended in divorce. He was then married to Nanette Faust, but they divorced after 20 years. September 2, 2006, he married Pamela (Ames) Wygant in Tekonsha.
Marc worked at several companies in the area over the years including Morgan Olsen (formerly Olsen Bodies) in Sturgis, American Truck Lines in Coldwater, Bundy Tubing in Coldwater, Wal-Mart in Coldwater, Speedrack in Quincy, Quality Spring Togo in Coldwater and Douglas Autotech in Bronson, before retiring in 2014.
Marc loved hunting and archery. He got to meet and have dinner with the legendary Fred Bear. Marc kept to himself and was an avid reader. He was sarcastic, very kind, liked westerns, cutting wood, playing guitar, and his preferred vacations were camping and no big cities.
Marc enjoyed the simple things in life and often thought he was born in the wrong time era.
Marc is survived by his wife Pamela; his son Jess (Maria) Hiesrodt of Tekonsha; his daughter Amy (Michael) Abrey of Coldwater; his step children, Angela (Tom) Lothamer of Quincy, Dawn (Eli) Robles of San Antonio, TX, and Jamie Curtis of Garfield, KY; his brother Jeff Hiesrodt of Marshall; his grandchildren, Jessica (Cass) Huber, Zachary (Michelle) Smurr, Ashlyn Abrey; his five step grandchildren; his great-grandchild Brendan Miller; his niece; and his former spouses, Carol and Nanette.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
