LaVeeda Clawson passed away Friday, January 12, 2024 with her son and daughter-in-law present at Drew’s Place in Coldwater, Mi where she had been living for the past fifteen months.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 29, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy with Pastor Kevin Looper officiating.
Visitation will be held Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
LaVeeda was born in the large farm house that her parent’s called home, located on Arkansaw Road in Hillsdale County Michigan March 7, 1930. She was the fifth and last child of Edward Steven Shafer and Mable Bernice (VanNasdale) Shafer.
She will be fondly remembered for her willingness to share her hugs with everyone.
She is survived by her three children: Nancy ReNay Miller, Timothy Doyle Clawson, and Kathleen Jane Rutledge; nine grandchildren: David Eric Lattas, Daniel Erin Lattas, Melissa Marie Jones, Timothy Daniel Clawson, Wendy Michelle Hales, Kacy Noelle Gray, Jack Robert Rutledge, Julie Jane Wells, and Rebecca LaVeeda Rutledge. She is also survived by her cousin Dean VanNasdale, nephews, Steve Shafer and Marion May, and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Othel.
