COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch Intermediate School District Board of Education approved a quote of just over $37,400 on Wednesday from a company that makes cyber security software.
CrowdStrike was chosen after they were one of two firms that were looked at by district Technology Director Aaron Cummings in an effort to protect computers from ransomware.
Branch I.S.D. Superintendent Kris Jenkins said during the board’s meeting in November the district needed to purchase ransomware software that would provide their network with 24/7 protection 365 days a year.
The quote approved was below the initial estimated cost of $40,000.
The board decided during the November meeting not to put the ransomware software services up for bid.
