COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A free community event that brings services to the homeless or those who are at risk of being homeless will be held on Thursday afternoon.
Branch County Project Connect will take place at Mary and Martha’s Diner in the United Methodist Church in downtown Coldwater from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m..
Lori LaBundy from the Coldwater Housing Commission says Project Connect has transitioned in recent years.
Branch County Community Foundation Executive Director Erica Heminger says a free meal will be provided by Mary and Martha’s Restaurant. Other services will be offered.
Project Connect looks to connect community members with local agencies offering services and information for low income families. Any information collected on Thursday will remain anonymous.
Finding suitable shelter then getting these folks off drugs and alcohol is a big step. Unless their severely handicapped or have mental illness getting them back to some type of work environment is crucial . I am afraid you will find many of these homeless like their outdoor nomadic lifestyle.
