COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The 25th anniversary St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School Mardi Gras ended up being a record breaking fundraiser for the school, bringing in just over $112,000 this past Saturday.
The amount, before expenses, includes a cash raffle, business sponsorships and all activities from the online auction, and the live auction event.
In the live auction, a few large money raisers were Father’s Wallet, a Coach wallet stuffed with a variety of items, which brought in $10,000, the Nature’s Playground hunting and fishing package from the 4th grade class coming in at $2,600, a weekend getaway at Crystal Mountain Resort at $2,000, a Santa and Mrs. Claus personal visit for $1,500, and a special Angel Tuition sponsorship for $4,250.

After the event St. Charles Borromeo principal Brenda Mescher said, “We are so grateful for our community’s support from families and businesses throughout the county, along with countless hours of volunteer time from so many, to make this event a success.”

Cisco Ortiz and WTVB’s Ken Delaney were emcees for the Saturday night event, with Steve Burns serving as auctioneer.
