Perry Bender, 64, of Union City, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024, at his home.
A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, February 18, 2024, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
He was born March 2, 1959, in Marshall to Wayne and Vianna (Eding) Huggett. He married Corrine Stahl, and she survives.
Perry graduated from Litchfield High School in 1977 and went to work for Budweiser driving truck for 10 years. After Budweiser, he was employed at H.C. Starck Solutions in Coldwater, where he eventually retired. Perry’s true passion was the outdoors. He loved hiking, canoeing, fishing, and camping. His love for the wilderness led him to becoming a guide for the North Country Trail, where he could share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others.
He is survived by his wife, Corrine; mother, Vianna Huggett; daughter; Summer (Joseph) White; son, Chad (Kanani) VanDoson; step-son, Nathan Stahl; and siblings, Valerie (James) Proctor, Jeri Miller, Dawn (Dan) Childs, Darrel Gratz, Richard “Rick” (Ruth) Huggett, Bruce (Betsy) Huggett, Michael “Mike” (Brenda) Huggett, Beth Bender and Cathy Bender.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Bender; and daughter in infancy, Jennifer.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Centrica Hospice.
