COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – With current Coldwater City Attorney Meghan Angell planning to eventually retire, the Coldwater City Council interviewed the first of two finalists for the position following their meeting on Monday night.
City Manager Keith Baker says the second finalist will be interviewed by the Council following their meeting on February 26.
The City Attorney is appointed by the City Council and provides legal advice and representation to the City government, its departments, and boards.
The City Manager and the City Attorney are the only appointed officials in the City of Coldwater.
The position was posted this past November on the web site www.govhrusa.com. It listed an annual salary of between $125,000 and $175,000.
Angell has served as the City Attorney since September of 2016. It’s not known yet when her final day with the city will be.
