James M. Aiken, 78, of Coldwater passed away Monday, February 12, 2024 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
A graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery Saturday February 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Mark Case.
He was born on October 12 1945 as the second of identical twin sons to Wilson T. Aiken SR and Esther L. (Miller) Aiken.
James was married to Helen M. Vanderpool on March 4 1972. She and their unborn daughter, Melissa Ann, preceded him in death on September 28 1972.
He was a lifelong resident of Coldwater and of the United Methodist Church. He was a 1963 graduate of Coldwater High School. Throughout the 1980’s and 90’s, James wrote children’s stories based on his childhood and was proud to have been published several times.
James is survived by many cousins, friends, and his in-law’s family. He was preceded in death by his parents and identical twin brother Wilson “Goog” T. Aiken JR.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Maple Lawn Activity Fund.
