MENDON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Vikings have advanced to the state quarterfinals for the third straight year after they captured the M.H.S.A.A. Division Four Team Wrestling Regional title on Wednesday night at Mendon.
The Vikings defeated the host Mendon Hornets 61-13 in the semifinals and then punched their ticket to Kalamazoo with a 54-21 win over Springport in the regional finals.
Double winners for the Vikings on Wednesday were Gabe Erwin (150), Layne Knisely (157), Mason Lindsey (165), Carson Norton (175), Conner Harvey (190), Jacob Britten (215, 285), Logan Long (126), Owen Kimmons (132) and Caleb Harvey (138).
Lindsey recorded his 100th career victory.
The Vikings will compete in the M.H.S.A.A. Division Four state quarterfinals next Friday at noon at Wings Event Center. Their opponent will be determined on Sunday after the eight teams who advanced to Kalamazoo are seeded by the M.H.S.A.A..
