BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – A special land use permit request to construct and operate seven commercial self storage units at 150 Wayne Street in Bronson was approved last week by the Bronson Planning Commission on a 5-0 vote.
The Bronson City Council approved a rezoning request from developer Tyler Stritzinger for the nearly seven acres of property last October from R-3 Multi-Family District to B-3 Community Commercial District.
The Planning Commission also approved a site plan for the property during a special meeting on February 15.
Last week’s action came after they voted 3-2 last September against recommending that the rezoning amendment be approved by the City Council.
Stritzinger said last fall the negative vote came about after there was confusion and miscommunication on his part.
The property is bordered by Wayne Street to the west, Dollar General Store and McDonalds to the north, multi and single-family residential to the south and west, and vacant land to the east.
