MATTESON TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Crews from two fire departments were on the scene for around one hour Thursday afternoon for a blaze at a home in Branch County’s Matteson Township.
The Bronson Fire Department was first called out around 3:00 p.m. for the report of a residential structure fire with smoke and flames showing at 945 Wattles Road. Fire crews arrived to find a single-wide mobile home with flames showing from the exterior.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, which they say was started by an electrical short. Approximately 1,500 gallons of water was used.
The damage to the structure was estimated at $2,000. There were no injuries.
The Sherwood Township Fire Department also responded with one tanker.
