QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Glass Slipper LLC submitted the only bid to the Village of Quincy for the sale of over three acres of vacant property at Beckwith Shores.
The bids were due February 19. Glass Slipper’s bid of just over $3,300 was opened and approved the following night during the Quincy Village Council meeting.
The property is zoned commercial vacant and is in the mixed-use zoning district. There are four cement cylindrical silos from the former Wolverine Portland Cement Company on the property.
The Request for Proposals issued by the village ahead of the bidding said the property had contamination in the groundwater and soil on the western side of the property. The Village said it was not responsible for any testing or contaminates and the property was being sold as is.
Glass Slipper was the only bidder last November for a 28 unit housing development on land the Village of Quincy purchased from Quincy Community Schools last year.
