Zeno was born May 12, 1936, to William and Alma (Homan) Post in Delphos, OH. His family moved to Coldwater in 1947 where he lived on the family farm with his nine siblings. He graduated from St. Charles High School with fond memories of being part of the state champion basketball team in 1954.
Zeno honorably served in the United States Army in Germany from 1956-1958 before returning home to buy the family farm. Zeno married Patricia A. Barone in 1962. They raised three daughters, Julie, Mary, and Karen.
Zeno was a member of St. Charles Church and the National Farmer’s Organization. He was extremely outgoing with a sense of humor, but he was serious about playing cards.
His passion for farming did not end when he retired. Rather, he became an avid gardener always planting enough to share his crop of fruits and veggies with friends, family, and neighbors. Zen enjoyed sports, whether he was playing, watching, or talking about them.
Zeno treasured his family and was a magnet to all children. He genuinely enjoyed spending time and laughter with his girls, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Zen was such a generous man, but his private donations to many causes could never be counted.
Zeno was a man of deep faith and great principles. During his illness, he never stopped praying or looking forward to receiving communion nor did he fail to give thanks for even the little things that were done for him.
Zeno is survived by his wife Pat; his daughters Julie Post of Whittier, AK, Mary (John) Salewske of Monroe, MI Karen Post of Bronson, MI; his siblings Lucy Sours of FL, Daniel (Charlene) Post of IN; his sisters-in-law Judith Post, Annette Post both of KY, Wanda Post of GA; his grandchildren Scott (Samantha) Keefer, Adam Keefer, Thomas Salewske, Sarah Salewske; his great grandchildren Anthony, Bryant and Zeno Keefer, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Zeno was preceded in death by his siblings Drita Miller, Mello Post, Robert Post, James Post, Luann Schultz, Joann Bateson, and Virgil Post.
Memorials may be directed to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School or Mercy Ship.
