COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Deb Wilkinson was honored as the Citizen of the Year while the Children’s Museum of Branch County was named the Business of the Year Thursday night during the 70th annual Coldwater Area Chamber of Commerce awards dinner.

Wilkinson is a long time local educator who has been involved with the Quincy American Legion Post for many years.
The Children’s Museum was honored after their attendance more than doubled last year at their new downtown location in the former Taylor’s Stationers building.
Children’s Museum Executive Director Shana Grife says the museum is for everyone.
A sell out crowd of nearly 350 persons was on hand for the annual ceremony which was held at the Dearth Community Center.

Chamber Executive Director Lori Hunt says they received a record number of entries this year. Because of that, Hunt says the board added a few more awards and categories so they could honor more of the accomplishments of those deserving people in the community.
Coldwater Meijer store director Sandy Wright was also installed as a new board member.
