COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council voted on Monday night to authorize City Manager Keith Baker and Mayor Tom Kramer to negotiate terms of a contract with Amanda O’Boyle to serve as the next Coldwater City Attorney.
O’Boyle is currently serving as the Deputy City Attorney in Lansing.
Kramer said O’Boyle and Coldwater attorney Bill Flickinger were the two finalists interviewed by the Council for the job.
Council member John Petzko felt O’Boyle’s experience in Lansing was a factor into why she should be hired.
Council member Mike Beckwith agreed and pointed out just like in Coldwater, the City of Lansing operates the Lansing Board of Water and Light.
If contract negotiations are successful, O’Boyle would take over as City Attorney for Megan Angell who is planning to retire.
